Ve středních Čechách se zachovalo poměrně málo mohylových pohřebišť, což je ovšem výsledek silné trasformace, nikoliv odraz minulé skutečnosti. Jedno z pohřebišť se zachovalo v lese u Žiželic (okr. Kolín). Provedli jsme povrchový průzkum a zaměření tohoto pohřebiště pomocí GPS. Podle všech dostupných informací, umístění a tvaru mohyl se zdá, že se jedná o raně středověké pohřebiště.

There are not many preserved barrow cemeteries within the archaeological record of Central Bohemia. The current state, however, does not reflect the prehistoric reality and is the result of various transformation processes. The most negative influence was that of human civilisation. One of the sites, which have survived in a relatively undisturbed state, is the barrow cemetery near Žiželice. The authors of this article conducted a survey of individual barrows with the help of the GPS technology and described their current condition. After gathering all information available about the site and comparing it with information about the nearby barrow cemetery of Choťovice-?Mírkoveček?, it was possible to classify this cemetery as of probable early medieval origin.
