New Technologies - Research centre in the West Bohemian region

 

The Centre (NTC) was founded on 3.7. 2000 in the framework of the R&D project of the Czech Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports called the “Research centers”. The Centre was then constituted by the Academic senate of the university as an independent university institution at the faculty level. The Centre supports the R&D activities in the West Bohemian region with a close relation to the Czech and international research and development teams.

The Centre is focused on applied research with an important role of problem-oriented research concerning technological processes, technical and other dynamical systems, and materials.

Main purpose of the Centre consists in concentration of both mental and material capacity for implementation of new technologies and development, especially in West Bohemian region. Important role of the Centre is the joining of young generation to the creative scientific work. The Centre has seven departments and there is about 50 full-time and part-time employees. More than one half of them are the employees younger than 35 years. The performance results of the Centre contribute to the actual level of production technologies, products, and labour productivity.
