Abstrakt EN: Continual induction hardening of steel workpieces belongs to modern and environmentally friendly industrial technologies. The body is heated by an inductor moving at a low velocity along it and the heated part is then immediately cooled by spraying quenchant. Modelling of this process is an uneasy business because of two reasons. The first one is the presence of the moving inductor and the second one problem with determining the coefficient characterizing the convection heat transfer between the body and a mixture of air and spray.
