Abstrakt EN: It is well known that the brittleness of hard ceramic film can be reduced by incorporation of some soft metal. This process is called the soft metal toughening mechanism. However, the metal easily oxidizes and it results in a decrease of the oxidization resistance of nanocomposite. Therefore, a selection of metal, its amount in the composite and its resistance to oxidation are of key importance in design of new advanced ceramic materials with reduced brittleness and high oxidation resistance.
