Abstrakt EN: Applications of low alloy TRIP steels in automotive industry today are generally limited to sheet components. Assuming appropriate changes in forming processes, this type of steels could be utilized in other applications as well, owing to high strength and good formability. This article presents one of possible paths to prepare the favourable TRIP steel microstructure for unconventional productions of hollow semiproducts and components. The experiment was carried out in two stages. The first stage entailed the investigation of austenitizing temperature impact. In the second stage, the proper timing of incremental deformation within thermomechanical treatment procedure was sought and validated. Samples of processed materials were investigated by means of light microscopy. Volume fractions of phases were determined through quantitative analysis, while the fraction of retained austenite was measured by X-ray diffraction.
