Abstrakt CZ: V příspěvku využíváme polo-strukturované rozhovory s představiteli České Římsko-katolické církve. Z nich vyplývá, že církev má tři strategie jak ovlivnit veřejnou debatu v České republice: 1) strategii přitažlivé osobnosti, 2) horizontální strategii a 3) vertikální strategii. V příspěvku se podrobně věnujeme vertikální strategii a diskusi jejích limitů.
Abstrakt EN: We present observations about public agenda setting carried out by the Catholic Church in the Czech Republic. We focus on the media and Church ability to set public agenda and introduce agenda-setting theoretical concepts and terms, which we intend to apply to the case of the Catholic Church in the Czech Republic. We collected semi-structured interviews with informants from different strata of the Church structure together with local politicians. Having focused our attention to the description of strategies that Czech Catholic Church uses to set public agenda, we detected three particular strategies: (1) media strategy since the Czech Catholic Church intends to set public agenda through the media agenda, (2) vertical strategy as the Czech Catholic Church intends to set policy agenda through laics active at the top of political hierarchy and (3) horizontal strategy because the Czech Catholic Church intends to set public agenda through interpersonal communication between laics and mass public.
