Publikace se zaměřuje na tři oblasti. První je rekonstrukce základních prvků nauky a praxe západní podoby uctívání Kršny. Druhou jsou otázky spojené s fungováním a aktivitami Mezinárodní společnosti pro vědomí Kršny (včetně České republiky). Třetí oblastí jsou otázky spojené s problémy akulturace, přenosu tradice a vytváření individuální a skupinové identity.

Book is concentrated on three basic issue areas. Firstly, it was the reconstitution of the basic elements of the doctrine and the practice of the western form of Krishna bhakti. Secondly, there were questions dealing with the foundation and the activities of
ISKCON. We also provided the reconstruction of history of ISKCON in the Czech lands (including the period before 1989) based on our own field research which we have carried out since 1990 and which has included participant observations and semistructured
interviews. Thirdly, there were issues such as interpretation of the development and current situation of the movement as well as the problems they have to face because of the tradition they are based on and the traditions they are newly confronted with.
