|Abstrakt EN:||In this poster bronze knives are considered from the following aspects – purpose, expression and creativity in past production. Purpose can be studied at least on three basic levels – practical function (an ability to interact with the physical world), social meaning (an ability to manage social relations) and symbolic significance (an ability to communicate messages). Expression of social and cultural identity does not always have to be conscious, intentional and explicit. On the other hand, to be creative during production one needs to have a conscious and clear connection with inspiration; strong intention and skilful hands are a big advantage. A case study from the Late Bronze Age Bohemia is presented.|
