Abstrakt EN: This paper is intended to be used as a manual describing the calculation algorithms employed in the software tool MVD pump & Fan Save Basic R1.2. The basic version of the software tool has been developed in order to provide user with a simple way of complex evaluation of pump and fan flow controls. The tool calculates with all commonly used flow control methods for both pump and fan systems and enables to compare selected methods in relation to a specific application from general point of view ? i.e. starting from the system operational conditions over specification of a load up to selection of a suitable electrical drive including power supply. The software also includes basic economical evaluation features such as operational costs, payback period or lifetime savings calculations.
