Abstrakt EN: Parallel plate antennas (or improved TEM-cell, strip line antenna, etc.) are used in electromagnetic compatibility for a susceptibility testing. The well-designed antenna represents transmission line with transverse electromagnetic (TEM) wave propagation and the electromagnetic field between plates is uniform [1]. In the area with the uniform field are placed tested devices. This paper deals with optimization of electric properties of small parallel plate antenna, which was designed for testing of telecommunication devices. The optimization is based at numerical solution, where a fully adaptive igh-order finite elements method was used. The results were compared with the results obtained by using the commercial software and the results of the original parallel plate antenna were verified by experimental measurement.
