Abstrakt EN: This article investigates the nexus of Beat poetry, Miroslav Holub and Seamus Heaney during the late 1960s and early 1970s. It argues that Holub absorbed the example and forms of the Beats through the translations of Jan Zábrana, and that these had a subsequent effect on the poetry and criticism of the Irish poetry Heaney. Thus it maps out one particular transnational route during the Cold War, suggesting more complex provenances that are usually allowed by nationalist criticism.
