Abstrakt EN: Possibility of connecting metal tubes, pipes, and cable sheaths by means of induction shrink fits is analysed. The technology is based on induction heating and thermoelastic radial enlargement of a sleeve element, inserting into it two ends of the bodies to be connected and subsequent cooling the whole system, which leads to the shrink fit. The advantages of this technology over the traditional methods ? mutual screwing or welding ? can be seen from a typical example and discussion of its results.
