Abstrakt EN: The paper deals with a possible approach to linearization of mechanical system with strong nonlinearities. Parameters of a linearized model are found using parametric optimization to keep significant characteristics of the dynamic response of the nonlinear system. The approach is applied to mathematical model of nuclear fuel rod (including number of possible impacts) and its substitution by linear model with similar behaviour for particular operational parameters.
