Abstrakt EN: A novel way of continuous welding of steel bodies is modeled, where the high-temperature heating is realized by a laser beam. The process is supplemented with pre-heating and post-heating of the welding trace by a classic inductor in order to obtain smooth weld, and to avoid unacceptably high temperature gradients and subsequent mechanical stresses in the processed material. Its continuous mathematical model is solved numerically in 3D under several acceptable simplification assumptions. The solution takes into account the material non-linearities (saturation curve of the welded steel and temperature dependences of its physical properties). The methodology is illustrated with a typical example whose selected results are verified by experiment.
