Abstrakt EN: There can be no doubt that from the political, religious and cultural aspects, Spain had a major influence in early modern Europe, including the Bohemian Lands. Never- theless, there has not been so much attention paid to the encounter of the Hispanic and Central European worlds that one could consider the topic exhausted; one might even say the opposite. Every worthwhile academic project that uncovers a particular segment of this mosaic of relationships and influences is therefore a welcome and valuable con- tribution, leading to a more three-dimensional understanding of European history and the principles which helped to create it. The new publication by the Czech historian and Hispanist Pavel Marek, La embajada espa?ola en la corte imperial (1558?1641). Figuras de los embajadores y estrategias clientelares, is incontestably one such work.
