Abstrakt EN: The author deserves credit for taking on an exceptionally challenging and difficult theme. The author offers his/her own analysis of Anna Brownell Jameson’s travel narrative Winter Studies and Summer Rambles (1838) against the relevant background of the aesthetic discourse of the period and Jameson’s first-hand experience of Canada’s wilderness with focus on femininity and the position of Native women. The content is treated thoroughly and clearly, with good foundations in theory. The paper demonstrates a high quality of written expression.
