Abstrakt EN: A new sensorless control algorithm for surface mounted permanent magnet synchronous machines with ?nite control set model predictive control (FCS-MPC) is proposed and its properties are analyzed. The FCS-MPC usually operates with a short sampling period, therefore the estimation algorithm needs to be computationally cheap. Moreover, injection of high frequency (hf) voltage signals into a given axis can be a challenging task in comparison with standard control structures which usually use a PWM modulator. The proposed control structure utilizing the FCS-MPC and enabling injection of hf voltage in to a separate d-axis using a designed cost function is proposed. Theoretical assumptions are veri?ed by both simulations and experimentsonalaboratoryprototypeofPMSMdrivewithrated power of 250 W.
