Abstrakt EN: 3D model of laser welding supplemented with induction pre- and/or postheating is proposed and solved numerically. Knowledge of the results (mainly the time evolution of temperature field and its gradients) is crucial for evaluation of stresses in material of thermoelastic origin and production of cracks in the weld. The model is as realistic as it can be. Taken into account are all significant nonlinearities and phase change of material. The methodology is illustrated with a typical example whose results are discussed.
