Abstrakt EN: Women constitute almost half of the current migrants and in Europe even exceed number of men (UN 2016). In our research we focus on maternal health of migrant women in the Czech Republic. We conducted meta-analysis of 124 (mostly) academic texts dealing with this issue worldwide. Our analysis focused on the identification of key topics that frame the discussion concerning maternal health of migrant women and the way their bodies are represented in those discussions. Three main topics were identified related to the maternal health of migrants: (1) the problem of categorization of the researched population; (2) the importance of culture preferences and practices; (2) rhetoric figure of epidemiological paradox. Pregnant migrant women are often represented as foreign bodies which are labelled as risk in several ways. First, the idea of risk is a central frame of the discussion of worse birth outcomes of migrant women when compared to native women. Second, migrant women are constructed as unknown bodies modified by female genital mutilation and other cultural practices. Third, their non-citizens? bodies are often excluded from the health insurance system, which affects the access to health care. Literature: UN (2016) International Migration Report 2015.
