Abstrakt CZ: The squirrel cage of the traction induction machine is usually manufactured from copper alloy. The rotor bars and shorting rings are soldered outside the rotor stack. Due to this arrangement the interconnections mentioned above can be damaged in a very short time. The purpose of this work is to create a model, which would be suitable for squirrel cage faults simulation. In this paper the investigation of currents, forces and temperatures of squirrel cage in steady state are presented. For the purpose of dynamic simulations, the parameters of substitution diagram are also derived and presented here.
