Abstrakt EN: This talk presents a new symbolic-numeric method for computing self-intersection of surface with arbitrary rational parametrization. The problem can be transformed into the problem of solving system of non-linear algebraic equations. Symbolic part of this method uses Gröbner bases method for solving given system of equations. Numeric part of the method finds all components of one-dimensional algebraic set which is obtained from Gröbner bases and computes the self-intersection.
