Mathematics for Secondary School Education
Description
This study programme is designed for those who wish to pursue a career as a secondary-school mathematics teacher. It provides students with a solid foundation in key mathematical disciplines, subject-specific didactics, pedagogy, and psychology. This combination offers high-quality preparation for the follow-up Master’s programme in Mathematics Education. The environment of the Faculty of Applied Sciences at the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen naturally connects mathematics instruction with other technical and natural-science fields, in line with the principles of modern STEM education.
The programme is part of a so-called joint (combined) study. Applicants choose two study programmes: a major and a minor. In cooperation with the Faculty of Education, Mathematics can be combined with Physics, Computer Science, Biology, Chemistry, or Geography.
Further information and instructions for applying for the study are provided on the faculty website in the Admissions.
