Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in Biology

Students of this study programme focus on all aspects of biology and its didactics. They gain in-depth knowledge of molecular and cell biology, human biology and understand various laboratory research methods. In addition, students are able to gain elementary biological data based on field or laboratory research.

This study programme focuses on human biology, molecular and cell biology, ecology and environmental protection and conservation, evolutionary biology and applied biology. Part of this study programme is a block of courses focused on teaching methods in the field and pedagogical- psychological topics. The programme also includes practical training.

Graduates find employment mainly as teachers of biology at elementary schools. Moreover, they have the possibility of continuing their studies in various educational programmes.
