CLASSES AT THE UNIVERSITY OF WEST BOHEMIA ARE CANCELLED

Last modified 2020/04/29

In order to follow the decree issued by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, contact classes at the University of West Bohemia (UWB) are cancelled with effect from 11 March, 2020. All planned and new incoming mobility activities have been suspended until further notice.

If the nature of courses allows, it is possible to conduct classes using a means of remote communication.

Both University canteens are closed with effect from 11 March 2020 until further notice. Student dormitories operate as usual. Nevertheless, heightened hygiene measures are undertaken.

According to an extraordinary measure issued by the Ministry of Health of the Czech Republic, students can participate in individual consultations from 27 April under the following conditions:

  • the student is free of acute health problems corresponding to a viral infectious disease (e.g. fever, cough, shortness of breath, sudden loss of taste and smell, etc.),
  • the student disinfects his/her hands when entering an exam room,
  • the student has not been ordered into quarantine at the time in question,
  • the student provides a written affidavit confirming the absence of symptoms of viral infectious disease within the previous two weeks (IX. Temporary Emergency Measures - Czech only)

Individual consultations or exams may take place in the presence of a maximum of 5 persons.

Under the conditions mentioned above, students can visit University Libraries and study rooms to borrow or return books. They can also conduct laboratory research and participate in clinical and practical courses and practice.

Please note that the consultation process depends on the decision of each educator – individual consultation is an option, not an obligation, especially in the case of teachers who are in the category of vulnerable people and must be extremely cautious.
