Nostrification
General nostrification
Nostrification is simply the recognition of the equivalence of a diploma or certificate from abroad in the Czech Republic. Therefore, if you want to benefit from the recognition of your education obtained abroad, you must "nostrify" your education in your home country. This does not apply to education acquired in Slovakia, Poland, Slovenia, Hungary and Germany - for more information see other documents binding on the Czech Republic at the website of Ministry of Education , Youth and Sport of the Czech Republic.
In case of a request for recognition of higher education, you apply to a public or state university, private ones do not have this competence. The first step you will need to take is to make a certified COPY of your foreign diploma including its attachments (usually called a diploma supplement/ transcript of records). You must have these certified copies translated into Czech by a court interpreter unless the documents are issued bilingually (including English). Then you will need to find a higher education institution that is authorized to run a study programe in at least one of the list of educational areas to which the foreign higher education programe you have completed belongs.
