Upper Secondary School Teacher Training in Biology

The study programme is focused on the theoretical issues of contemporary biology and its education. Students gain in-depth knowledge of molecular biology, cell biology, human biology and they are introduced to various laboratory methods. In addition, they learn how to obtain basic biological data using field or laboratory research.

The study programme includes subjects focused on human, molecular and cell biology, as well as on ecology and environmental protection or evolutionary and applied biology. Subjects focused on subject didactics and pedagogical-psychological propaedeutics form a part of the study plan. The study programme includes teaching practice too.

Graduates find employment mainly as teachers of biology at high schools. They are ready to continue their studies or to start their teaching practice straight away.
