Lower Secondary School Teacher Training in the Civic education

The study programme is focused on the issue of key disciplines that are needed to master the teaching of civic education at primary schools. You will focus especially on didactic issues in the field, you will get to know specific teaching methods and educational programs.

In the course of study, students focus on theoretical subjects that are mainly focused on European cultural history, law and economics, politics and media, anthropological topics and topics related to psychology, environmental issues and ethics. A part of the study plan are subjects oriented to branch didactics and pedagogical-psychological propaedeutics. Pedagogical practice is also included in the program.

Graduates find employment mainly as teachers of civic education at elementary schools. However, they can also be applied in the areas of informal education, in social, preventive and charitable activities, in the area of the environment, in educational or heritage care or in public policy.
