Data Protection Officer
of the University of West Bohemia (DPO)
The Data Protection Officer (hereinafter referred to as the "DPO") is responsible for overseeing data protection strategy and implementation to ensure compliance with the relevant legal rules and internal regulations issued by UWB. Furthermore, the DPO acts as a contact person responsible for answering enquiries and requests related to personal data protection.
In order to increase awareness of personal data protection, the DPO provides advice focused on the improvement of processes and activities related to it. Moreover, the DPO is responsible for the highest possible standard of data processing and protection. The DPO must be objective and impartial, and must avoid any conflict of interests. The DPO in particular oversees the compliance of personal data processing with GDPR, cooperates with the Office for Personal Data Protection and keeps the records of processing activities.
