What is GDPR?
GDPR or General Data Protection Regulation is the Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data and on the free movement of such data, and repealing Directive 95/46/EC (General Data Protection Regulation), which is effective as of 25 May 2018 and establishes the legal framework for the protection of personal data in the European area.
What is personal data?
Personal data is any information about an identified or identifiable natural person (data subject), such as name, surname, date of birth, e-mail address, telephone number, etc.
What is personal data processing?
Processing of personal data means any operation or set of operations which is performed upon personal data or sets of personal data, whether or not by automated processes, such as collection, recording, organisation, structuring, storage, adaptation or alteration, retrieval, consultation, use, disclosure by transmission, dissemination or any other disclosure, arrangement or combination, restriction, erasure or destruction.
Who is the Data Controller?
The Data Controller is the natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body which alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data.
Who is the Data Processor?
The Data Processor is a natural or legal person, public authority, agency or other body that processes personal data for the Data Controller.
