Safety at the University
The University of West Bohemia is committed to maintaining a safe and healthy environment for students, staff, and visitors. As of January 1, 2025, safety and security matters are coordinated by the University’s Security Department. This department is responsible for physical security, cybersecurity, fire protection, and occupational health and safety. It closely cooperates with other university units and ensures communication with the Czech Police and emergency services.
Security measures are continuously evolving, with a strong focus on prevention and crisis preparedness. To support effective responses to emergencies, the university uses the Crisis Information and Notification System (KISS), which enables rapid communication with students and staff. Education and awareness-raising activities in the field of risk prevention are also a key part of the university's safety strategy.
Creating a safe environment is one of the university’s top priorities. Modern safety protocols, expert collaboration, and a proactive approach help ensure that everyone can focus on their studies, work, and personal growth.
